Great layout with notably more room than a traditional bow RIB/SIB. PVC is highest quality I’ve seen outside of Hypalon or TPU. Transom is more than heavy duty enough for the 20hp Tohatsu pull-start motor I installed. Surprisingly dry (even in 2-3ft chop).
Also love the included accessories (seats, oars & oar locks, pump, etc). The optional accessories are equally quality. Overall a great package.
Only downside, is I noticed it is very sensitive to trim and weight distribution. Can go from a great ride to complete hog w/ventilation by moving 80lbs one meter fore/aft
Excellent quality and workmanship.
GREAT way to have a bit of cover out on the water. Easy to put together, pop in, tension up, and go. Very solid, easily withstands folks grabbing on and holding as they enter/exit. Still solid at full throttle with a 15hp outboard.
Just took it out this morning and it handled great !
Just inflated it for the first time today. We were waiting on davits so we wouldn’t have to store in the water or tow it. Much easier to inflate than I anticipated, under twenty minutes from roll out to splash. Quality is good, design seems good, very pleased.
The best. Awesome product. Even better customer service
This is my third inflatable boat and I have used my True Kit around a dozen time since new.
Pros:
Best packing inflatable ever. Just grab and go.
Rows extremely well even in the wind.
Best air floor of any inflatable. It also makes for a fun float board.
Cons:
The material is not for heavy regular use. By my sixth trip I had a slow tube leak. After using soapy water I found a slight scrape that was letting air out. I am very careful with the boat and never drag or abuse it. I have had two very minor scrapes of less than half an inch that leaked air. This is why it's a light, easy to pack boat. But I feel the material is to thin for the cost and for heavy fishing use.
I can recomend it for others just be aware it's a bit fragile.
I love the way they work, however installation on my dinghy was not easy.
We had to get longer bolts, because the transom is about 1.5 inches thick.
It was also not possible for me to drill exactly straight enough to get all of the mounting pieces to fit like they are supposed to.
Thanks for your review Tom. While we always try to satisfy every customer, we cannot know in advance the thickness of everyones transom. Most dinghy wheel producers supply no hardware at all, while we supply hardware that will fit many transoms, although not all. Sometimes hardware will need to be picked up from your local marine or hardware store. We are sure you will get many years of use from your Quicklok Dinghy Wheels. Thanks again
It is so well made !! Sets up in no time. Provides a lot of shade
Only used for a 4 day camping trip, but lightweight, and foregivable when my kids were running it up and down the bay.
Does exactly what I needed. Increased performance, and reduced prop cavitation.
Works great on my mercury 6hp, on a true kit 330. I moved the trim from all the way to the transom to 3 holes up. 20 mph by gps.
Very high quality but a tad clunky to assemble.
The perfect dinghy for folks with a small cruising boat such as my wife (74) and I (89) on a 22' C-Dory. Good quality material, strong. Clever design, mildly pontoon shaped, stable, soft seat for passenger on back end tube. Higher pressure insert floor makes boat rigid, stepping in like on a hard bottom. Better oar locks that really lock and hold oars securely in a spill. Good rowing position. Can carry even 3 smaller persons well on flat water. Easy to in- and deflate, light enough for old folks to put on cabin top and take down without sprains. Great little boat!
This is an amazing small boat .
I am an older individual who had to change to a boat that is portable yet stable and easy to board.
I am so impressed with the quality of the boat and even more impressed with the support of the seller.
Every question was promptly answered and the shipping was fast.
I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.
Well made, sturdy wheels that were easy to install. Only problem was the screws provided were too short and I had to get screws that were an inch and a half longer. It seems like the screws provided, are for a very thin transom. My transom is about an inch and a quarter thick.
Quick response. Very impressed with the quality of the boat.
What a good design. Bought as a second, small back-up tender and powering with a 2.5hp Yamaha
Love the “‘landing craft” front — our older German Shepherd had an easy time boarding from beaches— the main reason for the purchase — secondary reason: shallow water access better than our 14 ft RIB.
Professional build, great tender for the tropics!
